Centennial and Mt. Hebron are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2016, but likely not for long. The Eagles will square off against the Vikings at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Centennial comes in on three and Mt. Hebron on 12.
Centennial is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 20-5 margin over River Hill on Monday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by seven runs or more this season.
Centennial let Layla Schroyer and Katelyn Parbuoni run wild. Schroyer got on base in all four of her plate appearances with six RBI, two triples, and two stolen bases, while Parbuoni went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most stolen bases Schroyer has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Maddie Reese, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Centennial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Mt. Hebron won against Glenelg on Friday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Vikings' pitcher stepped up to hand Reservoir a 13-0 shutout. The Vikings are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the eighth game they've won by 6+ runs this season.
Abby Magdar was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.
In other batting news, Claire Brooks and Bella Widstrom did most of the damage at the plate: Brooks got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI, while Widstrom went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Danielle Green was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Centennial's record is now 6-4. As for Mt. Hebron, their record now sits at 12-0.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Centennial hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. However, it's not like Mt. Hebron struggles in that department as they've averaged .455. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Centennial suffered a grim 14-3 defeat to Mt. Hebron in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
