Buckeye Central is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Ontario just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-2.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Buckeye Central sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 23-25, 25-21, 13-25, 15-13.

Despite the defeat, Buckeye Central saw an underclassman step up: freshman Mayzie Hanlon had 16 digs and two aces. Hanlon is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, Wynford came up short against South Central on Saturday and fell 3-1.
While Wynford ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 20-25, 25-17, 25-20.
Wynford's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Buckeye Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-4.
Everything went Buckeye Central's way against Wynford when the teams last played on September 4th, as Buckeye Central made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bucks since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
