The Mt. Carmel Golden Aces are on the road again on Friday and play against the Byron Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on November 24th. Mt. Carmel will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
Mt. Carmel extended their postseason success on Saturday against Roxana. They enjoyed a cozy 63-48 win over the Shells. Mt. Carmel pushed the score to 56-35 by the end of the third, a deficit Roxana cut but never quite recovered from.
Mt. Carmel's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Asher Kight, who gained 230 total yards and four touchdowns, and Blayne Sisson, who rushed for 315 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Sisson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played.
Meanwhile, Byron put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They secured a 26-20 W over Montini Catholic.
Mt. Carmel has yet to lose a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 12-1 record. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Richland County and 0-9 Marshall (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 42.5% over those games). As for Byron, their victory bumped their record up to 13-0.
