Lugoff-Elgin was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They fell  57-48 to the Westwood Redhawks. The Demons were not able to make up for their  defeat to the Redhawks from their previous meeting  back in January of 2024.

Wilson  went 7 for 13  en route to 15 points along with seven  boards and four  steals, while  Samuel  posted 23  points and six  steals. That was a full 47.9% of Lugoff-Elgin's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's   scored  more than a third of the team's points.
 Even though they lost, Lugoff-Elgin was working as a unit and  finished the game with 14  assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westwood only racked up seven  assists.
 Westwood's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Amari Alexander, who  went 6 of 14  on her way to 18  points and four  steals. Those 18 points gave  Alexander a new career-high.  Aneya Britt was another key player,  dropping  a double-double on 13  points and ten  rebounds.
Lugoff-Elgin's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Westwood, their  win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-11.
 Lugoff-Elgin will head out to  take on Spring Valley  at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. Spring Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.6  points per game  this season. As for Westwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Florence  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Westwood is facing West Florence at the right time seeing as West Florence is stuck on  a  four-game losing streak.
