The South Gallia Rebels will take on the Crooksville Ceramics in a holiday battle at 3:30 p.m. on Friday at. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
South Gallia pushed their score all the way to 57 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Portsmouth West by a score of 59-57. It was the first time this season that South Gallia let down their fans at home.
Despite their defeat, South Gallia saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Morgan Lyons, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. The contest was Lyons' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Tori Triplett was another key contributor, scoring 22 points.
Meanwhile, Crooksville had to suffer through a rough 48-11 loss at the hands of New Lexington. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Crooksville has scored all season.
South Gallia's defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2. As for Crooksville, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-6.
