The North Valley Christian Academy Lions can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent game on Monday. They really took it to Mayer for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-40 win on the road. With North Valley Christian Academy ahead 43-20 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Bobby Rodriguez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jethro Maerina, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, Mayer still got an impressive performance from Earl Williams, who scored 23 points. Williams has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Carlise, who scored eight points.
North Valley Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Mayer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Valley Christian Academy will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Lincoln Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Lincoln Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games. As for Mayer, they will head out on the road to take on Bagdad at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bagdad is on a four-game streak of home losses, Mayer a 13-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
