Cuyama Valley extended the longest winning streak in Coast Valley (8 Man) this week by beating Maricopa, 52-20. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Bears.
Valley Christian Academy took down Shandon 60-16 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jed Hedlund threw for 223 yards and four touchdowns in the win.
Valley Christian Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lions feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hedlund has thrown for 1354 yards and 29 touchdowns this season, while Malac Taylor has 27 catches for 587 yards. Andy Wilson leads the league in rushing with 482 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Lions take on the Indians. Valley Christian Academy's offense has scored 390 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Maricopa has allowed only 196 on the year.
A big matchup in Coast Valley (8 Man) this week will be when Al Allen's team takes on Peter Fortier's team. As it stands, the Indians are in third, while the Lions are in second.
