Softball Recap: Firelands Wins Going Away Against Clearview

Firelands won the last time they faced Clearview and things went their way on Monday too. The Falcons blew past the Clippers 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won four matches by 12 runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Aubrynn Reichle, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Sarah Blankenship was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Firelands was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Firelands' record is now 6-7. As for Clearview, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Firelands will welcome Oberlin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons are facing the Phoenix at the right time seeing as the Phoenix are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Clearview, they will be playing at home against Brookside at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Clippers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
