There's no place like home for the Episcopal Maroon, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against Holton-Arms by a score of 57-48 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Episcopal also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Princess Akojenu was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shai James, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 16 rebounds.
Episcopal pushed their record up to 15-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Holton-Arms, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.
Episcopal will head out on the road to challenge Holton-Arms at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holton-Arms, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Springdale Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Springdale Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Holton-Arms is ranked tenth).
