The Le Mars Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Lincoln on the road and fell 82-48. While losing is never fun, Le Mars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while Lincoln is ranked 20th).
Cole Arnold was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points along with three steals for Lincoln. The team also got some help courtesy of Etienne Higgins, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 1 assist.
Le Mars' loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Le Mars will be playing in front of their home fans against Sioux City North at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln, they will head out on the road to take on Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Jefferson's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
