Softball Recap: Streetsboro Has No Trouble Against Western Reserve Academy

Streetsboro won the last time they faced Western Reserve Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Rockets blew past the Pioneers 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won seven matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Audriana Wert made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Wert was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Hailey Miller was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Olivia Knepper was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Streetsboro was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western Reserve Academy only posted a batting average of .294.

The victory made it two in a row for Streetsboro and bumps their season record up to 15-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Western Reserve Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Streetsboro will venture away from home to take on Coventry at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rockets will need to watch out since the Comets have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. Western Reserve Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
