The Cripple Creek-Victor Pioneers will be playing at home against the Elbert Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Cripple Creek-Victor will be strutting in after a victory while the Bulldogs will be coming in after a defeat.
Cripple Creek-Victor had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They escaped with a win on Saturday against Miami-Yoder by the margin of a single free throw, 25-24. The victory was just what Cripple Creek-Victor needed coming off of a 58-32 defeat in their prior matchup.
They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Rylee May and
Allyson Durham, who each put up eight points.
Meanwhile, Elbert's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They fell 43-30 to Rocky Mountain Lutheran. Elbert was down 37-13 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Cripple Creek-Victor's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Elbert, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Cripple Creek-Victor took a serious blow against the Bulldogs in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 52-18. Thankfully for Cripple Creek-Victor, Kaci Hudson (who scored 18 points along with eight assists and six rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
