The Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes's found some homefield redemption this week after a tough overtime loss to the Pinewood Prep Panthers on Tuesday. Ashley Ridge walked away with a 60-49 win over Cane Bay. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Ashley Ridge also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Cane Bay lost, one person who can't be blamed is Curtrell Dixon. Despite the final result, he scored ten points along with six steals. Jarvis Roper was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two blocks.
Ashley Ridge's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points per game. As for Cane Bay, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7.
Ashley Ridge will look to defend their home court on Friday against Summerville at 8:30 p.m. Summerville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Ashley Ridge likes a good challenge. Cane Bay won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Stratford at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Stratford has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 19.
