The Yutan Chieftains will be home for the holidays to greet the Raymond Central Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Yutan comes in on five and Raymond Central on four.
Yutan scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 58-13 victory over Conestoga at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Yutan has managed all season.
Yutan's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Amelia Dieckman, who scored 14 points, and Jade Lewis, who scored 18 points. Jenna Benjamin was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Even though Raymond Central has not done well against Malcolm recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Raymond Central came out on top against Malcolm by a score of 61-53. That's two games straight that Raymond Central has won by exactly eight points.
Yutan's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Raymond Central, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Yutan strolled past Raymond Central in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 51-35. Does Yutan have another victory up their sleeve, or will Raymond Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
