South Bend Riley hasn't had much luck against Mishawaka recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Cavemen at 11:00 a.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It was a proper cat-fight when South Bend Riley duked it out with East Chicago Central on Thursday. The Wildcats blew past the Cardinals 13-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Uriah Orozco made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has become a key player for South Bend Riley: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-6 otherwise. Orozco was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Carson Meadimber was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lucas Wyckoff, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
South Bend Riley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Mishawaka came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the RedHawks get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory.
The team relied heavily on Braedyn Smith, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamdon Putz, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Mishawaka pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for South Bend Riley, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
