Basic scored the most points they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They took an 86-80 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Laramie Plainsmen. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Basic still got an impressive performance from Amare Oba, who dropped a double-double on 44 points and ten boards. That was a full 55% of Basic's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. JaMari Cottingham was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Even though they lost, Basic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Laramie got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gabe Sanchez out in front who went 9 of 17 on his way to 26 points along with five rebounds and three steals. With that strong performance, Sanchez is now averaging an impressive 17.5 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Alexander, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.

Basic's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Laramie, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Basic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 72-63 defeat against St. Paul on the 19th. As for Laramie, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 77-44 loss against Coral Glades on the 19th.
