The Camas County Mushers will square off against the Dietrich Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Camas County comes in on three and Dietrich on ten.
On Tuesday, Camas County made easy work of Richfield and carried off a 54-33 victory.
Camas County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Clancy Rablin, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Rablin has become a key player for Camas County: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least eight boards, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Cadden Hathaway, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals.
Camas County was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, everything went Dietrich's way against Hansen on Friday as Dietrich made off with a 77-53 win. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 22 points or more this season.
Camas County better keep an eye on Angel Alvarado. He was instrumental in Dietrich's win, going 12 for 18 on his way to 27 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Alvarado is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Corrd Wells, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards.
Dietrich's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.3 points. As for Camas County, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Camas County has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 28.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Dietrich struggles in that department as they've been averaging 38.5 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Camas County was dealt a bruising 74-30 defeat at the hands of Dietrich in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Camas County was down 41-17.
