Basketball Recap: True Carey-Hardin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mckinley over Lakeview

McKinley lost against Lakeview back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The McKinley Red Dragons took a 61-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakeview Bulldogs. The Red Dragons just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

McKinley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was True Carey-Hardin, who posted 16 points and seven rebounds. Carey-Hardin's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Avon Fryer, who earned 14 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Even though they lost, McKinley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

McKinley's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Lakeview, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-10.

McKinley will be playing at home against Struthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McKinley is facing Struthers at the right time seeing as Struthers is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Lakeview, they will head out to square off against Girard at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Girard has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
