The Emery Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 78-61 bruising from Canyon View. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Defeat or not, Emery got some senior leadership from Luke Justice who scored 26 points and Wade Stilson who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The contest was Justice's 14th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Creek Sharp, who scored ten points.
Emery's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Canyon View, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Emery has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Carbon at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Carbon is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Canyon View, they will be playing at home against Delta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Delta is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
