After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Crandall, Poteet was happy to have turned things around  on Thursday. They were the clear victor by  a  44-23 margin over the Greenville Lions. The  victory was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their 14-game losing streak dating back to last season.
  Dylan Davis had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown.  Montreal Hodge made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
 Poteet's win  ended  a  five-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 1-4. As for Greenville, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the  loss, which was their sixth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 After each having a week off, Poteet and Corsicana will shake off the cobwebs and  square off against  one another  at 7:00  p.m.  on October 11th. Poteet is facing Corsicana at the right time seeing as Corsicana is stuck on  a  three-game losing streak. As for Greenville, they will have a little extra prep time after the  defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Ennis at 7:00  p.m.  on October 11th.
