The Vina Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 46-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hackleburg. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Vina has scored all season.
Vina lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sara Harper, who scored 13 points. Harper is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Layla Hester, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Vina has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Hackleburg, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Vina will head out on the road to face off against Waterloo at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Hackleburg will be home for the holidays to greet Phillips at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Phillips is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
