Baseball Recap: Tintic Wins Going Away Against American Heritage

After losing to American Heritage the last time they met, Tintic decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Miners put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 16-1 victory on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Miners.

Braylon Jones made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Tintic got a massive performance out of Gavin Bratt, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Bratt is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Camden Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Tintic hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as American Heritage struck out eight times.

Tintic's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for American Heritage, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tintic will take on Wendover at 1:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for American Heritage, they will host Freedom Prep Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Patriots are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
