In what's become a running theme this season, the Venture Academy Mustangs gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 112-59 victory over Big Valley Christian. Venture Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Venture Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marcos Rosales, who scored 23 points along with three steals. Mario Williams was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six assists and four steals.
Despite the loss, Big Valley Christian still got an impressive performance from Cohen Boone, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eiler Boone, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Venture Academy pushed their record up to 14-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 94.8 points per game. As for Big Valley Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 16-3.
Venture Academy will take on Leroy Greene Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Leroy Greene Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1045th, while Venture Academy is ranked 178th). As for Big Valley Christian, they will be playing at home against Stone Ridge Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Stone Ridge Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
