West Scranton and Wallenpaupack Area are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Invaders will welcome the Buckhorns at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Wallenpaupack Area took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on West Scranton, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, West Scranton got the win against Scranton by a conclusive 16-1. The win continues a trend for the Invaders in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won eight in a row.
Sophia Deluca made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Deluca was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, West Scranton got a massive performance out of Sydney Williamns, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave Williamns a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bianca Markovitch, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
West Scranton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Wallenpaupack Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Scranton Prep.
Clara Babyak made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailyn Kielbasa, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Wallenpaupack Area's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for West Scranton, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
