Booker is 4-0 against Bayshore since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Booker Tornadoes will be home for the holidays to greet the Bayshore Bruins at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Booker might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Braden River an easy 83-60 win. While losing is never fun, Booker can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 419th, while Braden River is ranked 187th).
Booker's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jovan Palavra, who scored 21 points, and Darius Behn who scored 18 points. The match was Palavra's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Wright, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Bayshore ended up a good deal behind Palmetto on Wednesday and lost 69-55. Bayshore has struggled against Palmetto recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Bayshore got a solid performance out of Demetrios Kimon, who scored 13 points along with six assists and three steals. The contest was Kimon's ninth in a row with at least ten points. William Strawbridge was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Booker and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Bayshore, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Booker hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 59.6 points per game. It's a different story for Bayshore, though, as they've been averaging only 62.8 points per game. The only thing between Booker and another offensive beatdown is Bayshore. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Everything went Booker's way against Bayshore when the teams last played back in January as Booker made off with a 65-41 win. Does Booker have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bayshore turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
