Volleyball Recap: Reese's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

After a string of four wins, Reese's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cass City Red Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rockets of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

While Reese had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-22, 22-25, 25-19.

Cass City found their leader in freshman Lydia Hartzell, who had 15 digs and two aces. Those 15 digs set a new season-high mark for Hartzell.

Reese's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Cass City, they pushed their record up to 4-4 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Reese is set to face off against their familiar foe Vassar at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cass City will challenge rival Laker at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
