West Stanly won the last time they faced Central Academy and things went their way  on Wednesday too. The Colts came out on top against the Cougars by a score of  7-2.
 Madi Whitley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 17 consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, West Stanly saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Payton Watson, who  went 1-for-4 with two  runs.
West Stanly is  on a roll lately: they've  won 13 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record  this season. As for Central Academy,  with the  loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-9.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Stanly will be taking part in a tournament against Cherryville  at 1:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Colts will need to watch out since the Ironmen have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last five contests. As for Central Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the  defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Forest Hills at 6:00  p.m.  on  the 29th.
