Football Recap: Virgin Valley Extends Home Winning Streak to 13

There's no place like home for Virgin Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They claimed a resounding 46-0 victory over the Mater Academy East Las Vegas Knights. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won five matches by 38 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Davie Slack, who threw for 228 yards and six touchdowns, and also rushed for 53 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. That's the most passing touchdowns she has posted in her last eight contests. Ari Easton did her part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 58 receiving yards.

Virgin Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Denise Silveyra and Easton. Easton has been hot recently, having also posted two or more receiving touchdowns the last three times she's played. Another thorn in Mater Academy East Las Vegas' side was Mia Bancalari, who picked up four sacks and made four total tackles.

Virgin Valley's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.1 points. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

After both having extra time off, Virgin Valley and Eldorado will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Virgin Valley's defense has only allowed 4.9 points per game this season, so Eldorado's offense will have their work cut out for them. Mater Academy East Las Vegas has already played their next game, a 45-0 victory against Democracy Prep Agassi Campus on the 13th.
