Meanwhile, Triplains/Brewster's five-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Heartland Christian as Triplains/Brewster made off with a 52-26 victory. That looming 52-26 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Triplains/Brewster yet this season.
Triplains/Brewster's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Peterson, who scored 14 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Peterson has scored all season. Nick Zerr was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Golden Plains' loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-7. As for Triplains/Brewster, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.
Friday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy contest: Golden Plains have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 29.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Triplains/Brewster struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 27.8 rebounds per game. Given Golden Plains' sizeable advantage in that area, Triplains/Brewster will need to find a way to close that gap.
