Even though The Muckleshoot Tribal Kings scored an imposing 36 points on Friday, the Oakville Acorns still came out on top. Oakville took down Muckleshoot Tribal 50-36. Oakville pushed the score to 50-30 by the end of the third, a deficit Muckleshoot Tribal cut but never quite recovered from.
Oakville found their leader in underclassman Gio Rodas, who threw for 212 yards and five touchdowns on only 17 passes, and also rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. Rodas is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Daniel Rodas was another key contributor, picking up 120 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Oakville's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Courtney Price and his two sacks.
The win makes it two in a row for Oakville and bumps their season record up to 3-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.0 points per game. As for Muckleshoot Tribal, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakville will take on Mossyrock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mossyrock has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 194 points over their last three games. As for Muckleshoot Tribal, they have the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Sound Christian at 6:00 p.m. on October 27th. Sound Christian is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
