If Eagle Ridge Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Valley, they should've done a better job of containing Nevaeh Jimenez. The Valley Vikings took down the Eagle Ridge Academy Warriors 48-33 on Saturday thanks in part to Jimenez, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Valley is 8-4 when Jimenez posts ten or more boards, but 2-3 otherwise.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kendyll Mayhugh, who posted six points and 13 rebounds. What's more, she also posted a 60% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Laikyn Lanzen, who put up 11 points along with six boards and three steals. Jaz Greenwood was another key player, putting up seven points and eight steals.

The win made it two in a row for Valley and bumps their season record up to 10-7. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points over those games. As for Eagle Ridge Academy, they dropped their record down to 6-11 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 41-32 victory against Sterling on the 12th. As for Eagle Ridge Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 44-29 win against Aurora Central on the 10th.
