The Sierra Linda Bulldogs fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Metro Tech Knights on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 60-57. Sierra Linda just can't catch a break and has now endured seven losses in a row.
Metro Tech's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Oswaldo Lopez Vargas, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Ivy, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Sierra Linda dropped their record down to 1-21 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Metro Tech, their victory ended a 16-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-21.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sierra Linda will square off against the Roughriders at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Metro Tech, they will head out on the road to square off against the Stampede at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
