The Platte Canyon Huskies entered their tilt with the Conifer Lobos with three consecutive wins dating back to last season but they'll enter their next game with four. Platte Canyon secured a 39-33 W over Conifer on Tuesday. Given Platte Canyon's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while Conifer is ranked 208th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Platte Canyon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caylie Lewis, who scored ten points along with four steals. Lewis is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Sydney Curtis, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Platte Canyon's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Conifer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
Platte Canyon will head out on the road to face off against Rocky Mountain Lutheran at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Rocky Mountain Lutheran focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. Conifer's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mountain Range at 7:00 p.m. on December 18th.
