The Woodson Warriors lost against the Bard Falcons back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Woodson fell just short of Bard by a score of 53-50. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Woodson in their matchups with Bard: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Antonio King, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. The match was King's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Quanntrell Gause was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Bard was led to victory by LaMardre Anderson-Ward and Andre Wright. Anderson-Ward scored 17 points along with six rebounds, while Wright scored 24 points. That's the first time this season that Anderson-Ward scored 15 or more points.
Woodson's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Bard, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodson will take on Cardozo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cardozo has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. As for Bard, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (Bell is ranked 34th, while Bard is ranked 32nd).
