The Chisholm Trail Academy Blazers and the Spencerville Adventist Academy Hornets will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Chisholm Trail Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Flint Academy 88-42 at home. Chisholm Trail Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 23 points or more this season.
Chisholm Trail Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Miquel Castro, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, and Ivan Ogaz, who scored 22 points. That's the first time this season that Ogaz scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Max Castro, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Spencerville Adventist Academy beat Washington Christian Academy 42-35 two weeks ago.
Spencerville Adventist Academy can attribute much of their success to CJ Jenkins, who scored 15 points. Ryan Reinhardt was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Chisholm Trail Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. As for Spencerville Adventist Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
Wednesday's contest is shaping up to be a scrappy game: Chisholm Trail Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.6 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Spencerville Adventist Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 11.9 rebounds per game. Given Chisholm Trail Academy's sizeable advantage in that area, Spencerville Adventist Academy will need to find a way to close that gap.
