Laurel-Concord-Coleridge entered their tilt with Plainview with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge was the clear victor by a 71-49 margin over Plainview. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge found their leader in underclassman Rena Rasmussen, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Rasmussen has scored at least 25% of Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's points. Another player making a difference was Kaida Eriksen, who scored 17 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Bloomfield didn't have too much trouble with Osmond/Randolph at home on Thursday as they won 59-40. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Bloomfield has managed all season.
Madison Abbenhaus was her usual excellent self, scoring 27 points. The contest was her seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tenly Gilsdorf, who scored 14 points.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge pushed their record up to 5-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Bloomfield, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Laurel-Concord-Coleridge hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 56 points per game. It's a different story for Bloomfield, though, as they've been averaging only 47 points per game. The only thing between Laurel-Concord-Coleridge and another offensive beatdown is Bloomfield. Will they be able to keep them contained?
