After a string of five wins, the Sullivan Redskins's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 52-42 to Arcola. The match was a 24-24 toss-up at halftime, but Sullivan was outscored by Arcola in the second.
Arcola's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kacie Sisk led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. Sisk is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kelsey Moore, who scored 15 points.
Sullivan's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Arcola, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sullivan will take on Pana at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pana will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 501st, while Sullivan is ranked 243rd). As for Arcola, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Arthur-Okaw Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
