Softball Recap: York Extends Winning Streak to Four

York waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Mason County Royals 13-5.

Sophia Lanciloti was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lillianah (Lilly) Burda, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Gia Valentin, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

York kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.

York's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Mason County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Coming up, York will venture away from home to square off against Atherton at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Mason County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Taft at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
