Israel Soto Goes Supernova in Karnes City Win
Starting off the list is Karnes City's Israel Soto, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Soto rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
On the season, Soto has averaged 18.8 receiving yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 20.5 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 67.83 rushing yards.

Sadly, Raishaun Conaway posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Young Men's Leadership Academy over Karnes City on Friday. Conaway rushed for 169 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (103.7). He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 51 yards.
Young Men's Leadership Academy is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. Conaway and Young Men's Leadership Academy will host Nixon-Smiley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Garet Gonzales produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Nixon-Smiley to the win on Friday. Nixon-Smiley is 2-1 when Gonzales posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise.
For the season, Gonzales has run in 4 touchdowns while averaging 71.7 rushing yards per game.

Karnes City Gets a Boost from Nixon-Thompson in 48-15 Win
The second Karnes City player making an appearance here is Savion Nixon-Thompson, and for good reason. He rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 90 yards and a touchdown.
