Whittell will challenge Excel Christian on the road at 1:00 PM on Saturday. Whittell are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the matchup prepared for a fight.
Whittell had a rough outing against Tonopah two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Whittell were fully in charge last Friday, breezing past Smith Valley 60-24. Senior Isaiah Womack, who rushed for 191 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in Whittell's success.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 72 points the game before, Excel Christian faltered in their game last Friday. They ended up forfeiting their match against Mineral County 0-2. This makes it the second defeat in a row for Excel Christian.
Whittell's win lifted them to 2-2 while Excel Christian's loss dropped them down to 2-3. We'll see if Excel Christian are able to find more success (and make for a more exciting contest than their last) when the teams meet up.
