As a matter of fact, Fort Ann put up the most runs they have all season on Thursday. They never let Argyle get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by seven runs or more this season.

Timmy Webb and Hunter Charpentier made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Webb tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Charpentier didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Webb has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Webb went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI, while Charpentier got on base in two of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Charpentier has become a key player for Fort Ann: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-5 otherwise.
In other batting news, Josh Dornan was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Drew Ladd, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Fort Ann always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. The last time their OBP was this high was was before the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Hadley Luzerne made easy work of Argyle on Wednesday and carried off a 14-2 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Scots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Hadley Luzerne's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Fort Ann, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Fort Ann suffered a grim 12-4 defeat to Hadley Luzerne in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
