Basketball Game Preview: Colton-Pierrepont Colts vs. Chateaugay Bulldogs

Colton-Pierrepont is 0-10 against Chateaugay since December of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Colton-Pierrepont Colts will venture away from home to challenge the Chateaugay Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Colton-Pierrepont has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Colton-Pierrepont is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Norwood-Norfolk: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Colton-Pierrepont blew Norwood-Norfolk out of the water with a 52-17 final score. The Colts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 29 points or more this season.

Cody Trimm was his usual excellent self, going 6 of 15 on his way to 18 points and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristin Thomas, who posted 13 points and five rebounds.

Colton-Pierrepont was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Chateaugay posted their closest victory since January 23rd on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Northern Adirondack, sneaking past 57-54. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Chateaugay pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Colton-Pierrepont, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Colton-Pierrepont ended up a good deal behind Chateaugay when the teams last played back in February, losing 50-32. Can Colton-Pierrepont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
