The Ridgeline Riverhawks will take on the Bear River Bears at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Ridgeline came out on top against Stansbury on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Riverhawks were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Stallions. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Riverhawks.
Jackson Christensen looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2025.
On the hitting side, Brady Cook and Jett Jensen did most of the damage at the plate: Cook went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Jensen got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Cook has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Cooper Clark, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Ridgeline hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bear River). They blew past Sky View 15-5 on Wednesday. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Bear River let Ethan Higgs and Jackson Barfuss run wild. Higgs went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs, while Barfuss went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Higgs also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Boston White was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Ridgeline's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Bear River, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Ridgeline has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Bear River struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Ridgeline came out on top in a nail-biter against Bear River when the teams last played back in May of 2025, sneaking past 6-4. Do the Riverhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
