The Nova Titans's game on Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-49 win over Norland. Given Nova's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Norland is ranked 283rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nova found their leader in underclassman Jaelynn Housey, who scored 22 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Housey has scored at least 25% of Nova's points. Another player making a difference was Nayeli Firmin, who scored nine points.
Nova's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Norland, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9-1.
Nova and Lakota West will face off at 1:00 p.m. on December 30, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Norland and Palmer Trinity will face off at 10:00 a.m. on December 30, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
