The Fairbanks Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the West Jefferson Roughriders at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Fairbanks focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Monday.
Last Monday, Fairbanks was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-38 to Cedarville.
Despite the loss, Fairbanks got a solid performance out of Rachael Hoover, who scored 12 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. Mara Vicari was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
West Jefferson has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They came out on top against Catholic Central by a score of 46-37 on Saturday.
Fairbanks bumped their record down to 3-12 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for West Jefferson, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
Fairbanks didn't have too much breathing room in their game against West Jefferson when the teams last played back in November of 2023, but they still walked away with a 40-36 win. Does Fairbanks have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Jefferson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
