The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. Arlington will challenge Malden Catholic on the road at 6:00 PM on Friday. Coming off of a win even when the odds were against them, Arlington have to be feeling especially confident with the MaxPreps state rankings on their side for this one.
Arlington took an ego-bruising defeat against Reading Memorial two weeks ago, but they kept their chin up and bounced back last Friday. Arlington had just enough and edged out Belmont 34-31. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Arlington as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Malden Catholic, and their contest last Friday only extended their streak of losses to three. They have to be aching after a bruising 13-35 loss to Catholic Memorial. Malden Catholic were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-35.
Arlington's win lifted them to 2-5 while Malden Catholic's loss dropped them down to 1-5. We'll see if Arlington can repeat their recent success or if Malden Catholic bounce back and reverse their fortune.
