Football Recap: St. Patrick Has No Trouble Against Wauconda

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but St. Patrick had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They blew past the Wauconda Bulldogs 49-28. Considering the Shamrocks have won five games by more than 20 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

When it comes to explaining why Wauconda lost, don't look at Cole Korycanek. Despite the final result, he rushed for 78 yards and one TD, and also picked up 39 receiving yards.

The victory made it two in a row for St. Patrick and bumps their season record up to 6-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.5 points over those games. As for Wauconda, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.

Coming up, St. Patrick will square off against Cary-Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Shamrocks will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least 31 points in their last eight contests. Wauconda does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
