In what's become a running theme this season, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They put the hurt on Clinton-Massie with a sharp 66-44 victory. The victory was nothing new for Lynchburg-Clay as they're now sitting on four straight.
Lynchburg-Clay had a senior duo take command as Addison West scored 23 points along with nine rebounds and four steals and Jade Massey scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Massey hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Madison McMullen was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Lynchburg-Clay's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.9 points per game. As for Clinton-Massie, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lynchburg-Clay the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome North Adams at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th. Clinton-Massie will take on New Richmond at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. New Richmond has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 20.
