The Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles will square off against the Acalanes Dons at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clayton Valley Charter is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Clayton Valley Charter nor Northgate made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Ugly Eagles came out on top against the Broncos by a score of 7-2.
Camdyn Alton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Marisa Vazquez, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jana Rosas, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Clayton Valley Charter hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Acalanes was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They came up short against Alhambra, falling 10-2.
Acalanes saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emme Young, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Clayton Valley Charter's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Acalanes, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Clayton Valley Charter hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. However, it's not like Acalanes struggles in that department as they've averaged .358. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Clayton Valley Charter took their victory against Acalanes when the teams last played back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 16-1 score. Will the Ugly Eagles repeat their success, or do the Dons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
