The Adams Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the Plano East Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Adams will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Adams is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Samuell a 21-0 shutout on Friday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Justino Chavarria and Jay Ortiz made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Chavarria tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Ortiz pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Chavarria posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. At the plate, Chavarria went 1-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Ortiz earned two runs and one stolen base. Chavarria is becoming a predictor of Adams' success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 7-12 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Nick Ortiz was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. Jason Escobedo also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Plano East challenged McKinney on Friday. The Panthers blew past the Lions 15-5. The Panthers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 21st (when they won 15-0).
The team relied heavily on Kellan McWhinnie, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Ricky Clemens, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Adams' record is now 10-12. As for Plano East, their record now sits at 15-10-2.
